From January 19 to 23, 2026, the 13th round of the China-ROK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) subsequent negotiations took place in Beijing. In line with the important consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries, the two sides accelerated the negotiation process and engaged in in-depth and constructive discussions on cross-border trade in services, investment, financial services rules, and negative lists, achieving positive progress.
The above FTA came into effect on December 20, 2015. Building on the original agreement, the subsequent negotiations aims to achieve a higher level of openness in trade in services and investment, so as to enhance and upgrade bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
