China and Israel have the fifth round of negotiations on free trade area in Jerusalem during January 28-31. Both sides held consultations and made positive progress on issues such as trade in goods, trade in services, investment, rules of origin, customs procedures and trade facilitation, trade remedy, environment, dispute settlement and mechanism clauses.
China and Israel are closely related in terms of bilateral economic and trade. China is Israel's third largest trading partner, and Israel is an important partner of our country in the Middle East and along the "Belt and Road". In 2018, the trade volume between China and Israel was USD 13.92 billion, increasing by 6.1% on a year-on-year basis.
