The Eighth Round Negotiation of China-Norway FTA was held in Oslo, Norway from Sep.14 to 16. The two sides conducted negotiations on such topics as trade in goods, trade in services, rules of origin, plants, plant hygienic standards, technical barriers to trade, trade remedy and facilitation.
Currently, Norway is our fourth largest economic and trading partner in North Europe. In recent years, with the smooth development of bilateral trade and economic relations, the two sides further deepened the mutually beneficial cooperation covering trade, investment and technology introduction. China-Norway trade amounted to US$ 5.73 billion with a growth 21.8% in 2009 and US$ 3.56 billion with a growth of 8% in the first 7 months of 2010. Moreover, the mutual cooperation in seaman labor service, information, telecommunication and medicine is increasingly close.
During the negotiation, Trond Giske, Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry, met with the two delegations.
