On November 20, Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Bingnan and Secretary of Economy and Finance of Macao Special Administrative Region Leong Vai Tac signed the Amendments Agreement on to the CEPA Agreement on Trade in Services in Macao. The agreement will take effect from the date of signing and will be officially implemented on June 1, 2020.

Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region Chui Sai On, and Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Fu Ziying witnessed the signing.

The agreement summarizes the latest opening measures in the field of service trade since the signing of the CEPA Service Trade Agreement in 2015, takes account of the appeal for the opening up of Macao's industries, further cancels or lowers the entry threshold for the Macao service providers in the fields of finance, law and architecture.It also relaxes restrictions on service trade patterns such as the movement of natural persons and cross-border delivery, which has created convenience for Macao people to do business in the Mainland.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Macao's return to the motherland. The agreement will not only provide strong support for the moderate and diversified development of Macao's economy, but also bring new vitality to the development of the service industry in the Mainland. It is of great significance to comprehensively deepening the economic and trade exchanges and cooperation between the two places, supporting Macao's economic development, improving people's livelihood, and integrating into the overall situation of national development.
