From April 11 to 12, the first session of talks on China-Iceland Free Trade Agreement was held in Beijing. 40 representatives from the governments of China and Iceland exchanged views on issues engaged with FTA, such as tariff reduction mode, rules of origin, SPS/TBT, and service trade. Positive progress had achieved in the negotiation.
Iceland is the first European developed country who recognized China's full market economy statues and is the first European country that talks with China on free trade agreement. China-Iceland free trade area will bring positive and profound impact on bilateral ties in future.
