The 8th round of China-GCC FTA negotiation was held in Beijing on October 25-27. Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen and Coordinator of GCC and the Deputy Finance Minister of Saudi Arabia led delegations to attend the negotiation. The Chinese delegation is composed of 45 people from the Ministry of Commerce, National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, General Administration of Customs, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The GCC delegation consisted of 65 people from 6 GCC member countries of Saudi Arabia, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the secretariat of the GCC.
During the three-day negotiations, the two sides carried out in-depth talks on the unresolved issues concerning trade in service, investment, e-commerce and trade in goods.
