The 7th round of China-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) FTA was held in Guangzhou on May 8. The Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen and the Chief Coordinator for GCC FTA negotiations and the Vice Minister of Finance of Saudi Arabia led a delegation to attend the meeting.
On January 19, during President Xi Jinping’s state visit to Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Commerce and the Secretariat of GCC issued a joint declaration, announcing to renew China-GCC FTA negotiation, and to make efforts to reach a comprehensive package agreement in 2016. This round of negotiation is the second round negotiation after China and GCC announced to renew the FTA negotiation.
