From Oct 22 to 26, the 10th session of China-Australia FTA talks was held in Australia's capital Canberra. Certain achievements gained on customs procedures and rules of origin. Views were exchanged thoroughly on service, investment, and tariff quota management of agricultural product. Some substantive differences were left.

Chinese delegation consisted of 19 representative ministries including Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Land and Resources and General Administration of Customs. Australian delegation consisted of 19 departments including Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, Department of Industry Tourism and Resources, Department of Finance, and Australian Embassy to China.

The two parties preliminarily agreed to hold the 11th session talks in Beijing on the first half of 2008.
