Under the background of the full launching of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) and tariffs declining significantly, the trade between Guangxi, which is located in the frontal zone of the FTA, and ASEAN presents a trend of rapid growth. It was known by the reporter from Nanning Customs that from January to April, bilateral trade of Guangxi and ASEAN amounted to USD1.75b, up 55.2% from the same period last year (the same below), with the scales of import and export both exceeding the levels of the same period before the financial crisis, thus hitting a new record high.

Specifically speaking, import of Guangxi from ASEAN was USD530m, up 64.3%, rising 2.2% from the same period of 2008 and export USD1.22b, up 51.5%, rising 22.4% from the same period of 2008.
