On January 1, China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (FTA) was officially completed, and 90% of bilateral trade and a total of more than 7000 commodities were imposed zero tariff. Driven by this, the trade volume between Hubei province and ASEAN is rising vigorously. From January to February, the bilateral import and export trade stood at USD310m. ASEAN overtook the US and Hong Kong to become the province’s third biggest trade partner.

The exported products of Hubei to ASEAN are mainly mechanical and electronic, high technical products and agricultural products, of which steel, auto components and parts and liquid crystal display are the knock-out products of export.
