The Conference of Chief Negotiators of the 7th Round of China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area Negotiations was held in Seoul Korea on May 12. The Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Wang Shouwen led Chinese delegation and attended the conference.
During the two-day negotiations, the three parties exchanged views on such issues as the trade in goods, the service trade, the investment and the field of agreement scope. Before, the three parties held the 7th round of negotiations of China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area at the negotiation departmental level on April 13-17.
Since the launch of the China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area Negotiations in November 2012, seven rounds of negotiations have been conducted. The three countries are important economies in the world and the gross domestic product exceeds US$16 trillion in total, accounting for more than 20% of the world. The foreign trade volume of the three countries reaches almost US$7 trillion, accounting for more than 20% of the total trade volume of the world. The establishment of the China-Japan-Korea Free Trade Area is conducive to fully giving play to the industrial supplementality of the three countries, digging and improving the potential of the trade investment level of the three countries and promoting the further integration of the regional value chain.
