The sixth round of negotiation of the China-Israel Free Trade Agreement was held in Beijing on May 20-23. The two sides held consultations on issues such as trade in goods, technical barriers to trade, investment, intellectual property rights, government procurement, e-commerce, competition policy, dispute settlement, and legal and institutional provisions. Positive progress was made.
China-Israel bilateral economic and trade relations are close. China has become Israel's third largest trade partner, and Israel is an important partner of China in the Middle East region and along the "Belt and Road" routes. In 2018, China-Israel bilateral trade volume reached US$ 13.92 billion, an increase of 6.1% year on year.
